Happy Friday! I am so excited to tell you about this play Phil and I saw last weekend! It’s called First Date! I haven’t had the opportunity to see any productions for quite some time which really bummed me out. I absolutely love seeing live performances! Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge movie fan, but there is something so exciting about seeing an actor or singer perform right in front of you. I can’t be the only one who sits in the audience thinking how INCREDIBLE their voices sound live! The small cast of First Date was so good and multitalented…keep reading to see what I mean!
When blind date newbie Aaron is set up with serial-dater Casey, a casual drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious high-stakes dinner. As the date unfolds in real time, the couple quickly finds that they are not alone on this unpredictable evening. In a delightful and unexpected twist, Casey and Aaron’s inner critics take on a life of their own when other restaurant patrons transform into supportive best friends, manipulative exes and protective parents, who sing and dance them through ice-breakers, appetizers and potential conversational land mines. Can this couple turn what could be a dating disaster into something special before the check arrives? [Organizer’s description].
We seriously laughed through out the whole play! Probably because our first date was equally as hilarious and awkward. Both of us were so shy and timid! Totally recommend seeing this play and laugh about the past…or maybe even learn a thing or two about first date dos and don’ts!
